Obituary of William Robert George

William Robert “Bill” George, age 66 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. George was born June 24, 1954 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Robert and Marjorie Moon George. He was a member of the Reunion Presbyterian Church. Bill was a 1972 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School and received his degree in Accounting and Business from IUP in 1976. He was the owner and operator of the former George and Cunningham Hardware Store for more than 40 years. Bill is survived by his loving family: his wife of 44 years, Sandra L. Stashick George, his beloved children, Brandon George and his wife Laura and Darcy Firmstone and her husband William Jr., all of Mt. Pleasant and his buddies, his grandsons, Mason and Kyle George. He is also survived by his sister, Martha Sitler and her husband Mark of Douglasville. There will be no hours of public visitation. Private services will be held for his immediate family. Interment will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
