Our deepest sympathy to Greg, Sherry and all the family. Mercedes was the best neighbor anyone could have, and we will always remember her smiles and the delicious cookie trays she gave us every Christmas. More importantly, she watched out for us and prayed for us. She will be missed dearly. May she rest in peace with Joe now.

Rest In Peace with our Lord Jesus Christ Aunt Mercedes, your pain has ended. My Godmother, Mercedes Louise Galley Puskar, passed yesterday afternoon. She was a wonderful person and an awesome baker. She was a wedding cake baker and decorator extraordinary, baking fantastic multi-tiered cakes in her home kitchen, NEVER, EVER a box cake mix. At Christmas her holiday cookies were made by the hundreds and given away to family and friends. She always had something baked to eat when you visited. YEARS ago my parents told her she should sell her cinnamon rolls and she scoffed at the idea, Cinnabon has nothing to compare to hers. Her sour cream apple pie was to die for. She was the school baker for my elementary school, her pizza was legendary. When I lived in Arizona, she would wrap up crusts and ingredients for my mom to take on the plane for me. She was also an artist and I am remembering us sitting at the kitchen table drawing witches, pumpkins, cats and ghosts for Halloween. Christmas was her holiday and her house was trimmed top to bottom, Her Dickens Village was the envy of any collector and she loved Santa Claus. She loved dogs and as many times as I tried to give her one for companionship and security, she turned me down.
I will miss you great smile and welcoming arms. Say hi to mom and dad for me! Love always Monica, Arementa, Allie, Adam, Ada, Amauri.

My deepest sympathies to Greg, Monica and all of the family. I remember "Aunt Merc" fondly as a sweetheart - gracious and hospitable in every way. I know you will treasure many happy memories of her. May she rest in peace.
