Obituary of Dolores Stanek Keefer
Mount Pleasant, Dolores J. "Dee Dee" Stanek Keefer, age 66 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (2/6/2012) in Excela Heath- Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA.
Mrs. Keefer was born January 1, 1946 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Sophia Chudik Stanek. Dee Dee was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish and a current member of St. .Pius X Roman Catholic Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was a 1963 graduate of the former Hurst High School. Dee was a self- employed hairdresser for more than 25 years, the owner of Dee's Unisex Salon at Mt. Joy, where she lived. She had also been employed with Roomful Express in the Uniontown Mall. Dee was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She truly enjoyed life and was a real people person. Her smile and her laugh will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving family: her children; Charles E. Keefer, Jr. and his wife Amy, Cynthia Rimlinger and her husband Douglas, all of Mt. Pleasant, and by her beloved grandchildren; Tiffany, Hayley, and Douglas Rimlinger. Dee is also survived by her sisters and brother: Carol Skilone and her husband Eugene, Mary Livingston and her husband Samuel, Thomas Stanek and his wife Kim, all of Mt. Pleasant, and Kathy Denne of Greensburg, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Dee was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Charles E. Keefer, Sr. in 2004, and by her sister, Frances Brzozowski in 1998.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant.
