Obituary of Mark Killar

Mark Killar, 72 of Mt. Pleasant, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 8, 2025 after a lengthy illness.  Mr. Killar was born August 13, 1952 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Joseph J. and Genevieve Zarycki Killar Jr.

Mark was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School class of 1970 and later received his teaching degree from California University of Pennsylvania.  He retired from West Penn Conservancy as an environmentalist.  He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church.  Mark was a true outdoorsman who loved fly fishing and kayaking. 

Mark is survived by his loving family, his wife, Ana Rosa Acosta de Killar; his siblings, Sharlane Firmstone, Kristin Biller (Corky), and Joseph W. Killar (Bonnie); and by numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Ron Firmstone.

In honoring Mark’s wishes there will be no public hours of visitation or services.  A private inurnment will take place in Transfiguration Parish Cemetery.  All arrangements have been entrusted to Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc.
