Doug was one of the smartest, kindest, and best souls Joanna and I have had the honor to call Friend. He was a Brother at Phi Mu Delta. Doug & Judy are our friend(s) always and sorely-missed travel companions. Doug and Judy made us feel that the Mount Pleasant environs were nearly our weekend home. We remember all the times just sitting and talking together with them and their friends when they stopped by and even some of the PMD Brothers and eventually with the three wonderful boys as they grew. We didn't always remember to take pictures, but Doug always said we'd remember the time with or without a picture--and he was mostly right about things like that. When he’d stay with us to go to the Farm Show for the apiary programs in more recent years, he’d show us his latest cars (the last two were electric—he was ahead of the game, as usual). No, we forgot to take pictures because his visits were too valuable to interrupt. We went through all the pictures we did remember to take, and picked four that seemed the best to us.
Doug helped so many folks in so many communities. Got the glass factory cleanup on the 1st President Bush’s Take-Pride-in-America Thousand Points of Light award. It’s now a town park, instead of an eyesore and danger to children. He was the kind of moral business and community leader who would help or find help for so many businesses and organizations and people so they could develop, prosper, and operate usefully. He always made sure we understood that the success stories were their own. What would you expect from someone who was Magic (according to awestruck kids & adults).
You’ll never bee far from our thoughts, Doug.

We got to know Doug when he helped Scott drive his convertible out to Mequon before the move. Doug and Scott stayed with us and we got to share meals and long chats with Doug on our back porch while Scott finalized house moving plans. We got to know both he and Judy better as they visited Scott and Lara in Mequon and attended Crossroads Presbyterian Church. They became honorary members of the church. Doug raised three fine sons and we, at Crossroads, were blessed to have Scott as our pastor. Doug was a great father, husband and grandfather and shared his Christian faith with all he met. He is missed.

I knew this man through his son, the late Scott Hauser, as a result of Scott's calling to be Pastor at Crossroads Presbyterian Church in Mequon, WI. When Scott & Lara came to us in September, 2015, none of us at Crossroads could possibly know at that time how fortunate we were and would become, not just for Scott's leadership of and for us, but for the family into which he had been born.
Doug Hauser became a friend, though I confess to not having known him very well. Through his and Judy's visits to Wisconsin to see Scott & Lara and their family, Doug's presence at services was a welcome one. We could see from Doug and Judy just why
and how Scott came to be the man he had become, and the pastor we loved.
I am saddened to know that Doug has gone but I am enrichened for his being my friend. What greater accolade can there be?
We are all gifted by those whom we are privileged to meet and know. Doug and Judy made my life better. How gifted I am that
God put them together and brought them and their family to us.
Rest well, good and faithful servant.

Doug was truly one of the best! His humor and wit and all around disposition was awesome to be around! To say that he will be missed is an understatement. Our world will be a little less bright without him in it. To Judy and Doug's family, I offer my heartfelt sympathy. 2 Corinthians 5:8 says that to be absent from the body is to be present with The Lord. Doug, rest with the Father. This is not goodbye...until we meet again.
