My most sincere condolences to the Wilson family and for all who had the pleasure of knowing Babe... He was a gifted muscian and an outstanding bus driver whom I had the pleasure of working with for over 13 years at the Mount Pleasant bus garage... Babe made a great addition to the heavenly choir... Rest in peace Leslie....

I had the pleasure of spending time with Babe growing up. We played hoops in the park, shot the breeze hanging out on Main Street, or played music together. Those were delightful experiences. Babe was a pure soul who loved sharing time with his friends. He made everyone feel, and become better.
When I moved south, I'd always visit when I returned to the area to check in. I got regular Christmas cards from his family with Toni providing updates on what was going one with her, Eboni, Elijah, and Babe. I still carry some of the pictures she shared with me as mementos of the times past.
Babe shared a song he wrote with me called "Everything is Mellow When You're Doing the Things You Love". That personified who Les was for me. I still play the song today for folks and it's always well received. I will cherish his memory forever and celebrate his life going forward. And I'll never forget the perpetual smile on his face.
My thoughts are with his family and friends, hoping all will transition from grief to joy in keeping his spirit alive and find peace in the process.

Our condolences from the Kean Family in California! What a great guy! Loved everyone and was loved by everyone he met! So much talent, musical and athletic! Funny, creative, caring, powerful, an amazing singer and musician! In his younger days a fullback and tackle on the same football team. Very good basketball player with scoring and rebounding skills! We walked to school together with Bob "Smitty" Smith to Ramsay in 7th thru 9th grades - I would stand at the top of church street, and see those two guys trudging up the hill. Lots of humor and trash talking on those walks of about 5 blocks, in rain, heat, cold and snow, uphill and downhill (haha)! Les was a charismatic and very likable person - I only saw him get angry a couple of times. When I moved to Cali after HS we lost touch, but reestablished with Facebook in the last 5 years. He sent me some great posts which I will treasure! Gone too soon, we will se you again "Baby Eagle"! I know you will play a key role on God's Praise Team. Love and God Bless, all, Glenn Kean

You gave me the gift of music called a”blues harp “ and changed so many events in my life. You’re playing a different harp now and probably trying to figure out how to bend a note just right. I cherish the time that I was fortunate enough to spend with you so many years ago. RIP my friend.

Oh my friend, I remember the first time I heard you belt out a song !!!
I was walking up Standpipe Alley and I heard you singing. I just followed the guitar and that beautiful voice!
I sat in front of you and had my very own performance ❤️
That was the first day of our long friendship. Sending prayers and hugs for your beautiful family ❣️

I started working with Babe in 94. He never seemed to have a bad day. He always had a smile on his face and never a harsh word for anybody. Me and a few friends would go to see him play with his band Unbridled/Metro. Oh my, what a voice he had. I always told him he sure played a mean guitar too. It just won't be the same not seeing his face at work anymore. My prayers go out to his wife Toni, and children Eboni and Elijah. Babe truly has a heavenly voice now, even though we always knew that.
