Obituary of Michael E. Bauer

Michael E. Bauer, (Mike) age 76 of Laurelville, PA, died Saturday, (6/26/2021) in the Excela Health-Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA. Mr. Bauer was born, May 14, 1945 in Pittsburgh, PA., the son of the late Robert W. and Margaret Pevornik Bauer. Mike was a 1963 graduate of Hurst High School. He served in the US Army from September 1965 - September 1967, stationed in Rodelheim, Germany. He was promoted to Specialist 4 at the Support Center where he operated the Heidelberg, a 4 Color Printing press. Mike was a longtime press operator at the Mount Pleasant Journal, The Print Shop and The Copy Center. You also may have seen him at Mountain Gateway to fill up your gas tank. Mike is survived by his wife, Angelika, his daughters, Patricia (Darin) Hettich and Christine (Justin) Fabin and his grandchildren, Tyler Hettich, Sarah Hettich and Abigail Fabin. He is also survived by his brother and sister, Ronald Bauer and Susan Bauer, and by his niece and nephews, Bob , Nick and Amy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert W. Bauer, Jr. and Timothy Bauer. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. Private Inurnment will be in St. Pius X Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests Memorial Contributions may be made to the Excela Health Home Care & Hospice Fund or the American Cancer Society, in Memory of Michael Bauer.
