Obituary of Diane J. Bechtold

Diane J. Santorella Bechtold, age 61, of Mt. Pleasant, PA died peacefully ,Thursday May 20, 2021 after a short battle with cancer , at her home surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Bechtold was born September 16, 1959 in Connellsville, the daughter of the late Leonard and Elizabeth A. Adams Santorella. Diane was a 1977 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. She was part owner of Thrift Sales and then went on to work for Shop-n-Save in Mount Pleasant as the office manager and for Harmon House processing payroll. She engaged with every person or project that came into her path. Diane always made people feel like she was delighted to be in their company. She loved going to the casino, traveling to see her favorite band ,"Metro" but most of all spending time with her family. Diane will be greatly missed by her loving family: her daughter, Nicole (Robert)Karfelt Jr., her grandsons, Robbie and Ryan Karfelt, and her sister, Joyce Zimmerman. Diane is also survived by her loving fiancé , Dave Childers, her nephew and niece, Shawn Zimmerman and Lenise (Jonathan) Grabiak and their daughter Isabella, and by many extended family and friends. In addition to her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her brother, Leonard Santorella Jr. in 1951 and by her dog Casino. Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. Additional viewing will be held Monday from 10 until 11 AM, the time of her funeral service in the Funeral Home. Diane has requested that everyone please WEAR BRIGHT COLORS to the funeral home.
