Obituary of Rita L. Tallerico

Rita L. Tallerico, age 94, of Mt. Pleasant, PA, died Thursday, April 15, 2021, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Tallerico was born September 15, 1926, a daughter of the late Martin and Verna Junick Smithnosky. She was a faithful member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. Rita was a graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had worked for many years for the Westinghouse Corporation. Rita loved her flowers, every animal she came across, and country music. She was very charitable and gave everything she had until the very end. Rita is survived by her loving family: her sister, Kay Colello, her step-children; Dennis Tallerico (Jacque), Darrell Tallerico (Patty) and Diane Robb, her nine step-grandchildren, eight step-great-grandchildren and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rita was preceded in death by her husband. Frank Tallerico, her sister, Donna Fatla and by her brother, Robert F. Smithnosky. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 3 to 7 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by Rita's Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church. Interment will follow in the Visitation Parish Cemetery. Following CDC Guidelines, face masks must be worn at the Funeral Home and in Church and Social Distancing must be maintained.
