Obituary of Stephen M. Zubach

Stephen M. Zubach, age 63, a lifelong resident of Mt. Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at his home , with his loving wife by his side. Mr. Zubach was born December 9, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Stephen J. and Mary "Madge" Jagoda Zubach. He was a parishioner of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Parish in Mt. Pleasant. Steve was a 1975 graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School. He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1975-1978 as a Boiler Technician Fireman on the U S S Saratoga CV-60 and then in the U S Naval Reserve from 1978-1982. Steve was very active in his community coaching sports. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant. Steve was a skilled forester, boilermaker, woodworker, and drafting design specialist. He loved the outdoors, working on cars, playing with his dogs, Sly "Moosedaddy" and Molly, yelling at the Steelers, befriending squirrels and drinking rum on the beach with the love of his life, Irene. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 37 years, Irene Sweney Zubach, his four children, Carissa Egan (Bob), Kelli Weiland (John), Katie Zubach-Loucks and Luke Swank, and Stephen N. Zubach (Samantha) and his seven loving grandchildren; Ty and Caitlyn Egan, Tristan and Brayden Albert, Cameron Primus, and Wesley Zubach and baby Zubach on the way. Steve is also survived by his sisters, Martina Pirl (David) and Susan Zubach, his nieces, Andrea and Sherri Pirl and many other extended family members. Family and friends will be received Sunday, April 11, 2021 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Monday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home followed by Steve’s Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church. Interment will follow in the Visitation Parish Cemetery with military honors accorded by the American Legion Post 446. Following CDC Guidelines, face masks must be worn at the Funeral Home and in Church and Social Distancing must be maintained. We Thank you for your patience and understanding.
