Obituary of Scott J. Belzer

Scott J. Belzer, 62, of Tarrs, PA., passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born on January 8, 1959 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Virginia J.( Myers) Belzer and the late James L. Belzer. He was a member of St. Pius X RC Church in Mt. Pleasant. Scott was a graduate of the Southmoreland High School, Class of 1976. Prior to his retirement ,he was self-employed with his family's Auto Parts Store. Scott was very active, volunteering with his church, the East Huntington Fire Dept. and with the Southmoreland Baseball teams as a coach and later running the scoreboard for the basketball and football games. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his son, Austin. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife, Mary Skero Belzer and their son, Austin Belzer and his girlfriend, Heather; sister, Debbie (Keith) Geiger; mother-in-law, Patricia Ann Skero; sister-in-law, Holly (Harry) Keslar, two-brother's-in-law, Patrick (Kelly) Skero and Harry Peterson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Scott was preceded in death by his father, James L. Belzer; father-in-law, Joseph Skero and sister-in-law, Jolene Peterson. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant . A Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X R.C. Church, Mount Pleasant. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Cemetery. Following Covid-19 Guidelines, only 30 people are permitted in the Funeral Home at one time.
