Obituary of Geraldine Mae Roadman

Geraldine Mae (Allison) Roadman, 83, of Norvelt, went home to her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born in Norvelt on April 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Margaret (Vogas) Allison, the baby of the family who were among the original homesteaders in that town. Gerrie was a graduate of Hurst High School class of 1955. She attended Pennsville Baptist Church. She was the best homemaker as she lovingly took care of her family. She loved craft shopping with her daughters especially in Amish Country where she loved visiting her daughter, Tammy and family. She loved the beach and the many vacations to Myrtle Beach with her husband George and daughter Debbie and family. Her most precious times were those spent with family and grandchildren, and especially the visits with her great grandchildren. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, George Roadman, and was a loving mother to her daughters, her “best friends”, Debbie (Jay) Shaffer of Mt. Pleasant and Tammy (Jess) Hoyman of Strasburg. She was so proud of her five grandchildren, the loves of her life, as they lovingly referred to her as Granny: Josh (Hannah) Shaffer, Dustin (Jamie) Shaffer, Jessica (Adam) Westgate, Allison (Seth) Houck, and Jenna (Aaron) Hollenbach and she cherished her great-grandchildren Arabelle, Colton, and Jackson Shaffer and Asher Westgate. Also surviving is her sister Betty “Mary” Christie of Norvelt and her brother-in-law Joe Zruno of Cape Cod, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Lori Sue; and her brothers and sister, Eugene Allison, Floyd Allison Jr., and Dorothy Zruno. Funeral services will be private for the family with Pastor Robert Bixel officiating. Entombment will follow at the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Arrangements for Gerrie have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mt. Pleasant. To offer a condolence please visit our website at www.galone-carusofuneralhome.com.
