Obituary of Robert C. Sebek Jr.

Robert C. "Possum" Sebek Jr., 80, of Mt. Pleasant , passed away on Friday, January 22, 2021. He was born June 18, 1940, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Robert and Josephine (Tomasek) Sebek. Robert was a 1958 graduate of the former Hurst High School and then he served in the Army and National Guard for over 26 years. Bob also worked at Robertshaw Controls as a Machinist. He was a Life Member of the Shaft Club, Hecla Sportmans, Hempfield Hunt Club, the VFW Post 3368 and Mt. Pleasant American Legion Post 446, and a social member of the Polish Falcon's Club. He is survived by his seven children, Jennifer Niedermeyer (Robert Kershey) , Cheryl Foor (Richard), Diana Herman (Norman), Teresa Richter (Michael), Joyce Hickle (Joseph), Domer "Manny" Laymon ( Pamela) and Karen Geary (Jeffrey); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his two sisters, Beverly Vanyo and Janice Keefer (Carl). In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn Walker Sebek, an infant son, Robert and a daughter, Sherry Ann Sebek, two sisters, Rose Ann Jaworski and Donna Colbert. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 until 8 P.M. at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral services for Mr. Sebek will be at 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 26, 2021 in the funeral home with the Rev. Lee Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
