Obituary of Lois Hixson

Lois Hart Hixson, 78, of McKeesport, PA, died Friday January 8, 2021. She was born July 18,1942 in Mt. Pleasant, PA, daughter of the late Charles and Angeline Cole Hart. She was a 1960 graduate of East Huntington High School and received her nursing degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Penn State University. She later went on to work as a traveling nurse in Flordia and Hawaii. She loved to take care of people and visit her son in New York City. Lois is survived by her son; William Lee Hixson Jr., of New York City, her siblings; Homer Hart of Ruffsdale and Gwendolyn Lauffer of Alverton, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sons; Michael Douglas Hixson and Todd Stephen Hixson, her siblings; Charles Hart, William Hart, and Gertrude Parker. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 11 until 1 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Lois will follow in the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, only 25 people are allowed in the funeral home at one time during visitation hours and the funeral.
