Obituary of John H. Richards

John H. Richards, Jr., age 85 of Mount Pleasant, PA died Sunday December 20, 2020 at the Rehabilitation Nursing Center of Greater Pittsburgh in Greensburg, PA. John was born July 21, 1935 in Clarksburg, WV, the son of the late John H. and Gladys Richards Sr. John was married to the late Joan C. Richards for 59 years before her passing in June of 2019. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God. John was living in Baltimore when he met Joan and together they moved to Mt. Pleasant where he had a successful career working at Robertshaw Controls in New Stanton, PA. John also spent many years serving the Lord through his dedication to the Mt. Pleasant Church of God and serving on the Board of Directors for the Stanwood Area Federal Credit Union (formerly the Robertshaw Federal Credit Union). John is survived by his loving family; his children, Gladys Braunschweiger (Charles) of Arizona, Joan L. Malotka (Kent) of Kissimmee, FL, John David Richards of Orlando, FL, Jill M. Kresky (Chris) of Knoxville, TN and Jane L. Richards of Mt. Pleasant, his beloved grandchildren; Anna Libertinism, Joey Hillebert, Brandon Baum (Morgan), Kendra Malotka, Elmer Baum (Erica), Morgan Richards, and Michael Baum. He is also survived by his loving sister Frances Savage of Baltimore, MD and his loving brother Thomas Richards of Dundalk, MD along with many nieces and nephews that he loved. In addition to his parents and wife, John was preceded in death by a brother Herbert Richards. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 1 until 7 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for John will be private in the funeral home, with Chaplain Don Hezlep officiating. Due to COVID-19 guidelines, only 10 people are allowed in the funeral home at one time during visitation hours.
