Obituary of David Edwin Costelnock
Scottdale, David Edwin Costelnock, age 62 of Scottdale, PA, formerly of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday (02/4/11) at Jo Ella's Personal Care Home, Scottdale, PA.
Mr. Costelnock was born November 9, 1948 in Greensburg, the son of Jerome and Helen C. Hamrock Costelnock of Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, and a member of the former Transfiguration Parish. David was a 1966 graduate of Geibel High School. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, and also earned his Master's Degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed in England during the Vietnam War. David had worked for the Ford Motor Company as an Inspector in their quality control department, and was most recently employed as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the Salvation Army. He was an avid Pirates Fan, and always looked forward to attending the Pirates Home opener.
David is survived by his loving family: his parents, Jerome and Helen C. Costelnock, his children, Jason and Catherine Costelnock of WV, and by his brothers and sister: Paul J. Costelnock and his wife Debra, Marcia A. Poole and Jerome C. Costelnock and his wife Linda , all of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by numerous Nieces and Nephews. David was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Marshall Poole in 1995.
Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.
A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday @9:30AM followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Dennis Bogusz as celebrant.
Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. A Parish Wake Service will be held in the funeral home Monday @3PM.
