Obituary of Thomas A. Belzer

Mount Pleasant, Thomas A. Belzer, age 79 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Tuesday (12/21/10) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Belzer was born April 1, 1931 in Mount Pleasant, the son of the late Louis and Mary Loboria Rotella Belzer. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Tom was a graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School Class of 1949, and a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force, serving during the Korean Era as a Sergeant in the Military Police. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446. Tom retired as an Inspector for the former Robertshaw Control Co., and had previously worked for the former Walworth Valve Company. He was a loving father and grandfather who adored his family. Tom is survived by his loving family: his sons, Terry T. Belzer and Tracy and Todd A. Belzer and Christine and their children, Ashley Marie and Alexei Anna. He is also survived by his sister and brother, Mary Belzer Caruso of Norvelt and Samuel Belzer and his wife Connie of Dearborn, MI, and by numerous Nieces and Nephews. In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his wife Jennie Anna Grosser Belzer in 1999, by his sisters, Angeline DePalma and Virginia Belzer,and by his brothers; Jack, Joseph, Edward, Louis, Frank and James Belzer. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Tom's Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment with full military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish Wake Service will be held Thursday @3PM in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at the Amber House and the Arnold Palmer Cancer Pavilion for the kindness and care given to Tom during his illness.
