Obituary of Olive Pearl Lyons

Mount Pleasant, Olive Pearl Lyons, age 93 of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday (12/19) in the Excela Health- Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Miss Lyons was born June 7, 1917 in Rodgers Mills, PA, the daughter of the late John and Ida Pirl Thomas Lyons. . Pearl was a Lifetime member of the Mt. Pleasant Church of God, where she taught Bible School and was secretary of the Missionary Society. She was also a member of the Ladies Bible Class, and of the Women's Christian Temperance Union. Pearl had been employed by the former Thomas Market. She is survived by her loving family; Numerous nieces and nephews to include: Mary M. "Peggy" Magyor and her husband Ronald, Ronald Colbert and his wife Lorna, Thomas Colbert and his wife Donna, and Darell Thomas and his wife Florence, all of Mt. Pleasant. In addtion to her parents, Pearl was also preceded in death by her brothers, Henry, George and Samuel Thomas and her sisters, Annamae Lyons, and Mary Colbert Rumbaugh. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 9 until 11AM at the Mount Pleasant Church of God, 936 W. Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, at which time her funeral service will begin with her pastor, Ben Tobias officiating. Private Interment will be in the Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville. The family suggests memorials be made to the Mt. Pleasant Church of God Building Fund, in memory of Olive Pearl Lyons. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home.
