Obituary of Anthony Joseph Bienia

Mount Pleasant, Anthony Joseph Bienia III, age 64 of Mount Pleasant PA, died Tuesday (11/9/2010) in Excela Heath- Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, PA. Mr. Bienia was born August 29, 1946 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Anthony and Angeline Szwab Bienia. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish, and a current member of St. Pius X R.C. Church, and it's Holy Name Society. Anthony attended the former Hurst High School and was employed by the former L. E. Smith Glass Co., retiring with over 40years of service. He was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan, and especially loved going to the Pirates Games. Anthony was a very active member of the Holy Name Society, and enjoyed being part of the Parish Festival and other activities which the Church sponsored. He is survived by his loving family: his sisters; Harriet Cerkovnik of Ligonier, Marcella Conde of Noblesville, IN and Sister Mary Anita Bienia of Greensburg. In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his three infant siblings and by his brother the Rev. Fr. Michael A. Bienia in 2005. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held on Friday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by his 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R C Church in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. The Ministry of Consolation will conduct a wake service in the funeral home Thursday @3PM and the St. Pius X Holy Name Society will conduct services @ 6:30PM. The family suggests memorials may be made to the St. Pius X R.C. Church or the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Church in memory of Anthony J. Bienia, III.
