Obituary of Joseph Tkach

Joseph M. Tkach, age 76 of RuffsDale, PA, died peacefully, Wednesday (11/21/2018) at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

 

Mr. Tkach was born December 6, 1941 in Saltsburg, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Mary Bradosky Tkach.  He was a member of Seven Dolors Roman Catholic Church of Yukon.  Joe was a graduate of the former Saltsburg High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army  and had been stationed in Germany.  He had been employed as a Welder for the Elliott Company for more than 15 years and was formerly employed by the Westinghouse Corporation.  Joe was an active Scout Leader for the Boy Scouts of America, and had coached Baseball for the teams in Yukon. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping trips with his wife Karol.

 

Joe is survived by his loving family:  his wife of 50+ years, Karolina Ann Kolar Tkach, his devoted children;  Tracy Jones and Jamie of Scottdale,  Lori  Ann Tkach of RuffsDale, Joseph M. Tkach,Jr. and Sabrina of Scottdale, and Steven A. Tkach and Misty of Lousiana and by  his beloved grandchildren; Cody Jones, Nathan Jones, Carolann Tkach, Elizabeth Tkach, Mihla Tkach and Cannon Tkach. He is also survived by his sister, Maryann Lombardi and Frank of Connecticut. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his granddaughter,  Ashley Firestone on Oct 13th of this year.

 

Family and friends will be received Saturday from 6 to 8 PM and Sunday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, PA.  Joe's Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 AM at Seven Dolors RC Church, Yukon, with the Rev. Richard Ulam, OSB, as celebrant.
