Obituary of Ona Rae Snyder

Ona Rae (Neiderhiser) Snyder, age 87 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Tarrs, PA, died Thursday (11/1/18) in Highlands Hospital, Connellsville, PA.

Mrs. Snyder was born May 3, 1931 in Fayette County. She is a daughter of the late Emanuel and Elma Seighman Neiderhiser.  She was a member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church for more than 70 years, where she was active in the Adult Bible Class, a Youth Leader, and member of the United Methodist Women.  She was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. Ona Rae was dedicated to her faith and to the loving care of her family.

She is survived by her loving family: her deeply devoted husband of 68 years, Charles Snyder, Jr.,  her children;  Brenda S. Caruso and William of Mt. Pleasant, Charles N. Snyder of Tarrs, and Judy R. Monroe of Mt. Pleasant,  her beloved grandchildren;  Jason Snyder (Sara), William Caruso, III, Melissa Caruso, Nathan Snyder (Terry), and Joseph Monroe, Jr. and by her great grandsons,Tyler Kocevar, and Hunter Snyder. Ona Rae is also survived by her sister in law, Dolores Neiderhiser of Kecksburg. In addition to her parents, She was preceded in death by her son in law; Joseph C. Monroe, and her  brothers and sisters; Melvin, Norman, Rev. Charles, and Clarence Neiderhiser and Audrey Kastner.

Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00AM in the Bridgeport United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Auer officiating.
