Obituary of James Eugene Nicolette, D.M.D.

James Eugene Nicolette, DMD, age 89 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday (10/28/18) in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA.

 

Dr. Nicolette was born February 18, 1929 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late James and  Angela Santora Nicolette.  He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Dr. Nicolette was a 1946 graduate of the former Ramsay High School.  He received his BS Degree in 1950 and his DDS Degree in 1958 from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine.   He served in the US Army during the Korean Era.  Dr. Nicolette started his dental practice   in Mt. Pleasant in 1958 and was also an instructor at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine. He was a founding partner in the  Life care Center for Outpatient Surgery (first free standing surgical facility in PA)  and a partner in the Westmore Dental Arts Group, in 1980 opening Fay-West Dental Center.  Dr. Nicolette served as   President of the Dental Staff, a Trustee and Past President of the Medical Staff for HC Frick Community Hospital.  He was a member of the American Dental Association, the PA Dental Association, the Deontological Society of Western PA, Westmoreland County Dental Society, and the Academy of Dental Anesthesiology and Oral Implantology, the International College of Dentists.    Dr. Nicolette was a member of the former Pleasant Valley Country Club and a member of the American Legion Post 446. He enjoyed playing golf, flying and music, which he also played professionally.

He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 65 years, Eva Joy Brown Nicolette,  his children;  Deborah L. Cameron of Mt. Pleasant, Michael R. Nicolette and his wife Denise of Scottsdale, AZ, James Eugene Nicolette II, and Brett A. Nicolette and his wife Cassandra, all of Mt. Pleasant, his beloved grandchildren;  Dr. William J. Cameron, Justin L. Cameron, Michael J. Nicolette, James E. Nicolette, III, Seth A. Nicolette,  Jett A. Nicolette,  Memphis L. Kinneer, Casey Campbell, and Kelly Campbell and by his great grandchildren; Emma, Kadance, Lilly, and Nolan. He is also survived by  his brother and sister,  John “Jack” Nicolette and his wife Betty, and Kathleen Cecil,  all of Pittsburgh. In addition to his parents, Dr. Nicolette was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters: Nelson, Dr. Anthony, and Vernon Nicolette,   Helen Corry, Ann Catazone, and Mary Louise Larocca.

Family and friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko and Rev. Robert Bixel co-officiating.

Private Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The American Legion Post 446 will conduct military honors in the funeral home Sunday at 1PM.
