Obituary of Leo Walter Jaworski

Leo Walter Jaworski, age 92 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Saturday (09/1/2018) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA.

 

Mr. Jaworski was born February 8, 1926  in Morewood , PA, the son of the late Andrew and  Joan Szynmanoska Jaworski. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish. Leo was a Veteran of WWII who  served in the United States Navy Seabees. He worked for General Motors, Fisher Body Division for more than 30 years. 

 

Leo is survived by his loving family: his children;  Alvin  Jaworski and his wife Kathleen “Cookie” of New Stanton,  Betsy Halvorsen and her husband Kim of Acme, his grandchildren; Jason P. Burrell, Gregory A. Jaworski and Alanna, Jennifer J. Burrell and Lori Burrell and by his great grandchildren; Nicole Wedge and Tim and their daughter Alexis Wedge and Nicholas Burrell and Julie. Leo is also survived by his brother and sister, Joseph Jaworski of Mt. Pleasant and Elizabeth Wolak and Stanley of Lorain, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Leo was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude M. Kocinski Jaworski in 1976, his companion, Nora Kocinski Konieczny in 2017, his grandson, Christopher Burrell in 1998, his daughter in law, Patricia Kuzar Jaworski in 1989 and by his brothers and sisters; Walter and Bruno Jaworski,  Irene Rafacz,  Martha Tylka and Helen Kulniszewski.

 

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home, followed by Leo's Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM   in St. Pius X  Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant.

 

Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant, with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 3PM.  The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of Harmon House and Grane Hospice for their exceptional care and their kindness.
