Obituary of Dorothy J. Gratzinger

Dorothy “Dolly” (Jacak) Gratzinger,  age 90 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly Tuesday (06/26/18) at Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA.  

Mrs. Gratzinger was born Sept. 1, 1927 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Josephine Legutcki Jacak.  Mrs. Gratzinger was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and the former Transfiguration Parish. Dolly was a 1945 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. She had been employed by the former Acme Store and Foodland Stores in Mt. Pleasant  and the Hopwood Foodland. 

Dolly was  a member of the Mount Pleasant Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Ladies and the Water Lillies.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years,  William E. Gratzinger, her devoted daughter,  Deborah Gratzinger,  by her grandchildren,  Andre Martin, and Candice Martin and by her great granddaughter, Layla Martin. In addition to her parents, Dolly was preceded in death by her sisters;  Bridget Jacak, Angela Zoracki, Cecilia Siwula, Kay Hoffer, Zita Podgajny and Jerry Williams Speschock.

Family and friends will be received Thursday from 4 until 8 PM. at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

A blessing service will be held Friday at 12:30PM in the funeral home followed by her 1:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial    in St. Pius X  RC  Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko  as celebrant. Additonal viewing will be from 11:30 until the blessing service at 12:30 PM.

Interment will be in the Middle Presbyterian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial contributions be made to Mount Pleasant Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, in Memory of Dolly Gratzinger.
