Obituary of Walter Pegram

 Walter Lawrence "Larry" Pegram, Jr., age 74 of Mount Pleasant, PA, passed away peacefully Monday (1/15/18) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Pegram was born March 27, 1943 in Greensburg, PA, the son of the late Walter and Alice Portzer Pegram. He was a member of the Reunion Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant. Larry was a 1961 graduate of Greensburg Salem High School. He proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Medic during the Vietnam Era. Following his service to the country he loved, Larry began working on the Survey Crew for West Penn Power. After years of working his way up the ladder, he retired as a Right of Way Representative. Larry loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He was an avid sports fan who loved golf and enjoyed watching football. Larry was also very active in his church. He was a member and served as an Elder for the Reunion Presbyterian Church. Larry is survived by his loving family: his wife of 50 years, Sue Moore Pegram, his son, Scott L. Pegram and his wife Shelley of Greensburg, his daughter ,Heather M. Pegram of Mt. Pleasant, and his grandchildren whom he loved dearly; Darek Kelsey, Jade, Tia and Taylor Pegram. He is also survived by his sisters; Peggy Ann Pegram of Naples, FL, Virginia Thompson and her husband Floyd, and their daughter Dawn of Oakdale, CA and Sib Samm and her husband Ralph of Naples, FL. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his niece, Jennifer Samm. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home , 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in the funeral home, with his Pastor, the Rev. Susan Washburn officiating.
