Obituary of Dorothy H. Basile

Dorothy H. (Plummer) Basile, 88, of Mt. Pleasant PA, died Sunday, October 29, 2017, at home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Basile was born November 25, 1928, in Norvelt, the daughter of the late Kenneth and Gertrude Cogan Plummer.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant.  Dorothy was a graduate of the former Hurst High School.  She was a seamstress and had retired from Union Apparel in Norvelt. Dorothy loved bingo and watching the Steelers play on Sunday.

She is survived by her loving family: her daughters, Angela Tirdil and her husband, Alan, of New Freedom, Sylvia Wilburn and her husband Dale of Uniontown, and her son Mickey Basile of Mt. Pleasant; her wonderful grandchildren; Melissa, Allison and her husband Sam, Magyn and her husband Billy, Jennifer and her husband Jason, Alex and his wife Sherry, Lindsey, and her adopted grandson Andrew; and her great-grandchildren; Anthony, Shane, Jessica, Jillian, Lennon, and Stormy.  Dorothy is also survived by her sisters;  Chris (Marian) Nicely and her husband Ron and Shirley Miller.  In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Silvio A. Basile, in 1994.

Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, in the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Ellson officiating.

Interment will immediately follow in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
