Obituary of Karen Ann (Newill) Foriska

 Karen Ann (Newill) Foriska , age 70 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Excela-Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.

Mrs. Foriska was born November 21, 1946 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Grace "Babe" Hubert Newill. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Karen was a 1964 graduate of the former Hurst High School. She had been employed as a Hairdresser for many years and had also worked as a school bus monitor for First Student, Inc. Karen enjoyed camping and especially loved times spent with her family.

She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 49 years, John F. Foriska, her brothers and sister, Barry Newill and Debbie of Harrisburg, Raymond Newill and Karen of Kecksburg, Cathy Bando and George of Mt. Pleasant, and Greg Newill and Mandy of Acme. She is also survived by her aunts, Dolores Neiderhiser, and Irene Smelko and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 until 8 p.m. at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Karen's funeral mass will be celebrated Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. (Everyone please meet at the church)

Private Inurnment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. The family wishes to thank the Palmer Cancer Center, and the Doctors and nurses and a special niece Lindsay Grenda at Excela-Latrobe Hospital for their care and Kindness. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Pleasant Medic 10, or to The Norvelt Ambulance Service or the Norvelt Fire Department in Memory of Karen Foriska.
