Obituary of John Conty

John Conty, age 77, a resident of Passavant Memorial Home, Greensburg, formerly of Old Bethany, died Thursday, June 15, 2017 in Westmoreland Manor ,Greensburg, PA.

Mr. Conty was born February 6, 1940 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Philip and Helen Dorich Conty. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. John had been employed at The ARC of Greensburg for many years. He enjoyed bowling, watching old Vintage movies, going out to eat and spending time with his family and many friends.

John is survived by his loving and devoted family: his brothers and sisters; Mary Catherine Camptella of Greensburg, Betty L. Conty of Old Bethany, Joseph Conty and his wife Jeannie of Wooddale, Romaine Janicki and her husband Ted of Greensburg, and Ronald Conty and his wife Jane of Greensburg. He is also survived by his sister in law, Irene Conty of Scottdale, his special niece, Mary Catherine Janicki, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother Philip Conty, Jr. in 1994.

Family and friends will be received Sunday from 3 until 7 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for John will be held Monday at 11:30 AM in the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held Sunday at 3:30 PM in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the caregivers at the Passavant Memorial Home for their care and their kindness to John.
