Obituary of George William Bell

 George W. Bell, 63, of Mt Pleasant died Friday, May 19, 2017 at Excela Health-Frick Hospital, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Bell was born November 21, 1953 in Mount Pleasant, the son of Helen Peffer Bell of Mt. Pleasant, and the late Clyde Joseph Bell. He is a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran church of Mount Pleasant.

George was a 1971 graduate of Mt Pleasant High School. He attended the University of Pittsburgh in Oakland and Penn State University in McKeesport.

George was semi-retired from Aliner Campers in Kecksburg, where he had worked in assembly. Prior to that he worked in automotive sales and sporting goods. He also spent many years employed by Nino's Restaurant in Laurelville. George enjoyed playing golf, watching classic movies and traveling to Civil War battlefields with his son. He had an amazing memory for historical facts and classic movie and sports trivia, and he loved sharing this information with anyone who would listen.

George will be sadly missed by a tremendous group of high school friends who still love to tell stories of "the good old times", as well as many other extended family members, coworkers and friends.

In addition to his mother, Helen (Peffer) Bell, George is suvived by his sister, Claudia Grissom, his brother, Joseph Bell, his son Nicholas Bell, and his former wife and close friend, Deanna Moximchalk. He is also survived by his niece, Alicia Laskey and her husband Kevin and their daughter Charlotte, his nephew, Eric Bell and his wife Kate and their sons Eli and Ezra, his sister-in-law, Helen Taylor and many aunts, uncles and cousins. George was preceded in death by his father ,Clyde Joseph Bell in 2007 and by his sister, Alice Bell, in 1978.

Family and friends will be received Sunday from 5 until 8 PM and Monday from 12:30 PM to 1:30PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home Inc., 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant.

Funeral Services for George will be held Monday immediately following at 1:30 PM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Thomas Kennedy officiating.
