Obituary of Brian Richard Minick

Brian Richard Minick, age 41 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly Friday, April 21, 2017 in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Minick was born July 7, 1975 in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of Richard A. Minick of Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the former Transfiguration Parish. Brian was a 1993 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School. He earned his BS degree in Business Administration and BS in Business Communications from Thiel College. Brian also holds a BS degree in Business Computers Information Technology from St. Vincent College. He earned a Masters Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Clarion University and a Masters in Health and Physical Education from IUP. Brian had been employed as a teacher of Computers, Health, and Physical Education at Greensburg Salem High School. He was an avid sports fan, but especially loved the Pittsburgh Steelers. Brian enjoyed Skiing at Seven Springs where he had been a Ski Instructor for many years. Brian is survived by his loving family: his father, Rick Minick, his aunt and godmother, Patricia Minick Brothers, his son, Bryce C. Minick, and his loving and faithful companion, his Rottweiler Carlin. Brian was preceded in death by his infant brother, David Christopher Minick in 1973, his paternal grandparents, Alex and Helen Minick, and by his uncle, Sanford "Jack" Brothers in 2005. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by Brian's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Mount Pleasant, with Monsignor Michael W. Matusak as celebrant. Interment will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
