Obituary of Clyde M Shaw

Clyde M Shaw Jr., USN (Ret.), age 67 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday April 17, 2017 at his home. Mr. Shaw was born October 13, 1949 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of Eleanore Jean Crawford Shaw of Mt. Pleasant and the late Clyde M. Shaw, Sr. He was a devoted member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. He was a 1967 graduate of the Mt. Pleasant Area High School. Clyde proudly served in the United States Navy for over 20 years as Petty Officer 2nd class. After retirement from the Navy, Clyde worked for Westinghouse Corporation replacing nuclear rods and refueling. He was an active member of the Marion Lodge #562 F & AM, where he served as Past Master, and was also an active member of the Boy Scouts of America, serving as scout master for Troop 133. Clyde was a loving son and husband who most enjoyed spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving family: his mother, Jean Crawford Shaw and by his devoted wife of 8 years, Beth A. Horrell Shaw. Clyde is also survived by his sisters and brother: Nancy Youngdahl and David of Grove City, Deborah M. Shaw of WI, and Stevan R. Shaw and Nancy of Mt. Pleasant, his nieces and nephews; Deanna Shaw, Christopher Shaw and Brianne, Brian Youngdahl and Jen, and Deb Youngdahl and Curtis, and by his great niece, Alayna Shaw, and by his children: Jennifer Kowal and Joseph, Christine Webster and Tim, and Robert R. Kowal and Dawn. His grandchildren: Darby, Madison, Dharma, and Ivy. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services for Clyde will be held Friday at 1:00 PM in the funeral home, with his pastor, the Rev. Randy Landman officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446, will be in the Mt. Joy Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Marion Lodge #562 will conduct services on Wednesday at 7 PM, and Troop 133 will conduct services on Thursday at 7 PM.
