Obituary of Lawrence Robert Paul

Lawrence Robert Paul, age 82 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday, March 5, 2017 at home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Paul was born January 31, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late William Penn Paul and Josephine Citro Paul. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mount Pleasant. Larry attended Ramsay High School. He proudly served in the US Navy, and from 1954 to 1957 was stationed on the USS Saratoga Aircraft Carrier. Once home, he served as a Naval Reservist until discharged in 1961. Larry had a long and successful career in the Construction business, as one of the owners/partners of the John Gulisek Construction Company. Larry loved his family, food, being outdoors and gardening. When not working or helping someone, he enjoyed cooking for his family, friends, and neighbors. Larry was an avid sports fan , who especially enjoyed watching the Steelers. He was a great person, who always had a smile for everyone. He will be greatly missed by all who had the honor and the pleasure of knowing him. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Jean Fulmer Paul, his 6 children: Jodi Roberts and her husband, Bill; Lawrence Paul II and his wife, Beth; Lisa Pavlocak and her husband, Jeff; Denise Paul-Lopez and her husband, Alex; Cynthia Paul and Lori Sipes and her husband, Chad; his two Stepsons, Todd Fulmer, (Sheila) and stepdaughter Haley, and John Fulmer and his wife, Christy. Larry will also be greatly missed by his 12 Grandchildren: Steven Roberts, Scott Roberts, Gaige Pavlocak, Ariana Pavlocak, Alena Pavlocak, Jeanna Lopez, Niko Lopez, Patrick McAnally, Ethan Fulmer, Avery Fulmer, Harper Sipes, and Clark Sipes, and by his two Great Grandchildren, Aubrey and Abella Roberts. He is also survived by 5 of his siblings: Joan Ponzurick of Mount Pleasant, James Paul of Acme, William Paul of Cleveland, OH, Ronald Paul of Michigan, and Samuel Paul of Tennessee. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters, Leonora Paul Muko and Gloria Paul Slonecker, and by his beloved first wife of 35 years, (Jean) Marie Leonard Paul. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home , 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Larry's Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 1:00 PM at St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH) Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
