Obituary of David Allen Saxberg

David Allen Saxberg, age 77 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Friday, December 23, 2016 in the UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mr. Saxberg was born August 5, 1939 in Charleroi, PA, the son of the late Walfred and Alice Good Saxberg. He attended St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. David was a 1957 graduate of Monessen High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Dave was employed as a Dispatcher for J.A. Trucking Co. of West Newton. He was a life member of the Hecla Sportsman's Club. David was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish, but he especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 11 years, Debra Bando Saxberg, his children; David A. Saxberg, Jr. of Irwin, Scott A. Saxberg and Roxanne of Myersdale, Christopher M Saxberg and Cindy of New Alexandria, and Jennifer D. Vargo of Irwin, and by his nine Grandchildren and five Great Grandchildren. David is also survived by his brothers; Jack Saxberg and Georgette of Belle Vernon, and William Saxberg and Barbara of West Newton, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko officiating. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
