Obituary of Geraldine Mae Lucas

Geraldine Mae (Hudec) Lucas, age 93 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday October 3, 2016 at her home. Mrs. Lucas was born May 14, 1923 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Jacob and Caroline Henkel Hudec. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Jerry was a 1941 graduate of the former Hurst High School. She had been employed by Union Apparel of Norvelt for more than 30 years and had also been a self employed hairdresser, operating Jerry's Beauty Shop in Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed going to bingo, watching Penn State, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Miami Dolphins football games. She was a true animal lover who was devoted to her dog and rabbit, Capone and Skippy. Jerry was a loving mother, and grandmother who spent her life caring for her beloved family. She is survived by her loving family: her children; Cathy Lucas (Thomas) and Richard Keto (Mary), all of Norvelt, and Paula Rutkowski (Rick) of Mt. Pleasant, her beloved grandchildren: Lynn Stange (Doug), Jennifer Harvey (Tim), Tom Lucas, Jr., Kelly Saloom (Brian Hare), Kerry Mondock (John), Kimberly Ludwig (Jeff), Chuck Etling ( Tara), Jake Etling (Hanna), Heather Wingrove (Jess), Andy Yuhas (Mary Beth) and Mike Yuhas. Jerry is also survived by seventeen Great Grandchildren with the 18th on the way. In addition to her parents, Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Lucas in 1984, her daughter, Carol Yuhas, and two brothers and three sisters. Family and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11:00AM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J.
