Obituary of David V. Santorella, Jr.

David V. Santorella, Jr., age 36 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died unexpectedly, Thursday, September 29, 2016 at his home. Mr. Santorella was born May 24, 1980 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of David and Barbara Wadsworth Santorella of Mt. Pleasant. He attended St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. David was a 1998 graduate of Mt. Pleasant Area High School, and received a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from Waynesburg College. He had served 8 years in the United States Army and had been active during the 911 crisis. David was employed as the Assistant Director of Nursing for the Allegheny County Jail. He enjoyed a healthy life, always working out at Planet Fitness. David most enjoyed his family time with his mom and dad and with his brother, with whom he had a special relationship; they were best friends, enjoying all sporting events, especially their love of the Boston Red Sox. He played football and baseball in college, and enjoyed traveling to the Carolina's to see his brother. David always had a smile on his face , and love in his heart for his family and his friends. David is survived by his loving family: his Mother and Father, his brother, Scott M Santorella, of Myrtle Beach, SC and by his son, Carter David Santorella. He is also survived by his paternal grandparents, Eugene Santorella and Lois Santorella, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. David was preceded in death by his Maternal grandparents, Wayne Wadsworth, and Helen Wadsworth Porter. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 3 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM. at the funeral home , followed by David's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X R C Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military rites will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
