Obituary of Robert Albert Booker

Robert A. Booker, age 77 of Norvelt, PA, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at the Excela Health- Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg, PA. Mr. Booker was born July 25, 1939 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Albert and Irene Lessman Booker. He was a longtime member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church. Bob was a 1957 graduate of the former Hurst High School, and earned an Associate Degree from Penn State University. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a Methods Engineer for the Elliott Corporation in Jeannette for more than 20 years. Bob was an avid hunter, fisherman, and gardener who loved working around his yard. Bob is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Joan Colbert Booker, with whom he just celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on August 6; his beloved children; Kimberly Booker Albright and her husband Scott of Mt. Pleasant, Robin Booker Quinn and her husband Bryan of Fairhope, and Tim Booker of Mt. Pleasant, his three adoring grandchildren; Rebecca Quinn, Sarah Albright, and Jacob Quinn (Ashley Miller), and his great grandson, Nash Quinn. Bob is also survived by his brothers and sisters in law; Phillip and Rhea Thompson, LaVern Christner, Joyce Hribal, and David and Darlene Colbert, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother and sister in law, Denver and Geneva (Sis) Booker. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 1:00 PM, in the Funeral Home, with his pastor, the Rev.Timothy Auer officiating.
