Obituary of Madeline Jaworski

Mount Pleasant, Madeline "Madge" (Schwalke) Jaworski, C.R.N.A., age 81 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Thursday June 30, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Jaworski was born July 11, 1934 in Scottdale, PA, the daughter of the late George and Mary Walczak Schwalke. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church and the former Transfiguration Parish. Madge was raised in Everson and graduated from the former Scottdale High School in 1952 and from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Altoona in 1955. She completed her Anesthesia training at Westmoreland Hospital in 1959, and then served 2 years in United States Air Force, stationed at Harlingen, TX, where she was a First Lieutenant Nurse Anesthetist. She returned to PA and worked at Westmoreland Hospital for eight years, completing her career at Frick Hospital with 25 years' service, retiring in 1995. Madge is survived by her loving family: her husband of 50 years, Joe "Jabs" Jaworski, her daughters; Jenifer Kaputa and her fiancé Marc Skilone, of Mt. Pleasant and Julie Brown and her husband Chris of Wilmington, NC, and by her son, John and his wife Melissa (Sochacki) Jaworski of Mt. Pleasant. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Lauren and Lindsey Kaputa, Rachel Brown, and Chloe and Bryce Jaworski. Madge is also survived by her sisters, Dorothy Schwalke and Regina Schwalke, both of Mt. Pleasant, by her brother, Tom Schwalke and his wife Anna of Norvelt, and by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two siblings in infancy, a sister Theresa Niezgoda, and her brother, George Schwalke. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11:30 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant.
