Obituary of Betty Jane Tokarcik

Mount Pleasant, Betty Jane (Rerko) Tokarcik, age 86, of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Friday June 24, 2016 in the UPMC-Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Mrs. Tokarcik was born March 28, 1930 in Brownfield, PA, the daughter of the late John and Anna Mutnansky Rerko. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, and its Rosary Altar Society and Christian Mothers. Betty was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was a 1948 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School, and the Braddock School of Nursing in 1953. Betty had been employed for more than 20 years as a Registered Nurse for Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg. She is survived by her loving family: her sons; Edwin J. Tokarcik and his wife Carol of Mt. Pleasant, and Edward C. Tokarcik of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Albert J. Tokarcik in 1981, her brother John R. Rerko in 1974, and her sister, Mary Ann Rerko in 2013. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 10 until 12-noon at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A Blessing Service will then be held, followed by her Funeral Mass at 12:30 PM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant.
