Obituary of Conrad William Semensky

Mount Pleasant, Conrad William Semensky, age 89 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday May 2, 2016 at his home, with his loving family at his side. Mr. Semensky was born September 5, 1926 in Trauger, PA, the son of the late William and Mary Kundrick Semensky. He was a member of St. Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church of Trauger. Conrad was a 1944 graduate of the former Hurst High School. He was a proud Veteran of WWII who served in the United States Army-Air Force. Conrad had been employed by the former Robertshaw Contol Co., and was a self employed Excavating Contractor for the Municipal Authority of Westmoreland County. He also did private landscaping and excavating work. Conrad was an avid Steeler fan, who had been a season ticket holder since they shared Forbes Field with the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was a member of the Greek Catholic Union, the American Legion Post 446, the VFW Post 3368, BPOE #777, and the Hecla Sportsman's Club. Conrad is survived by his loving and devoted family: his brother, Gregory P. Semensky and his wife Jean and his sister, Mary Ann Semensky Kontir and her husband James, all of Mt. Pleasant and by his beloved nieces and nephews: Deborah Sieg (Larry), David Barbus (Ethel), Daniel Barbus (Denise), Deanne Bialowas (Brett), Dr. Natalee Kontir, Shane Kontir, and Nicholas Semensky. In addition to his parents, Conrad was preceded in death by his sister, Virginia Semensky Barbus in 2011. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. Conrad's Divine Liturgy will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's Byzantine Church, Trauger, with the Rev. Paul-Alexander Shutt, OSB, as celebrant. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 and the VFW Post 3368 will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Trauger. Parastas and Panachida Services will be held Thursday at 6:30 p.m.in the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the staff of Excela-Hospice, his V.A.
