Don was a fellow English teacher, newspaper writer, and good friend who did what he could to help my career. He was also a good friend of my husband Joe, whose biology classroom was directly across the hall from Don's. They were also tennis buddies; they enjoyed a fun match on Joe's last day. No doubt he was one of the first to welcome Don into heaven, and they are planning their next tennis match. My heartfelt sympathies to his family.

Mr. Bischoff was a great mentor and journalism teacher. His teachings helped me achieve my dream to be a writer, newspaper reporter and now editor of a local newspaper. He often would stop in to my office and visit when he and his wife came to Ligonier to shop. I was so proud to know he approved of the work I am doing with my newspaper. He was a kind man and one of those teachers you just never forget. Thanks Mr. Bischoff. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.

I knew Mr. B. as the "neighborhood Dad" before I ever knew him as a school teacher. He was always there in the summers putting up with us, with our antics and helping us out if we needed him... I enjoyed and respected him as a teacher. I cannot help but think of all of you fondly when remembering all my childhood memories of growing up in M.P.. It was so nice to reconnect with Linda here in Murrysville and hear about everyone after all these years...
My deepest sympathies to all of you during this difficult time. ~Amy
