Obituary of Thomas L. Midden

Mount Pleasant, Thomas L. "Hank" Midden, age 79 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Wednesday (01/20/16) at his home, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Midden was born January 11, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late August and Irene Forejt Midden. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church. Hank was a 1954 graduate of the former Ramsay High School. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed by Gen-Corp of Jeannette. Hank was a decicated life member of the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department. He served in the Army National Guard, Co E. 110th Infantry. Hank was a member of the Assunta Club, the Polish Falcons, the Bridgeport Sportsmans Club, the VFW Post 3368, the American Legion Post 446, and the Kosciuszko Club. Hank was also a life member of the Hecla Sportsmen's Club and the Mt. Pleasant Fireman's Club. He enjoyed working in his garden and going fishing, but most of all he loved spending time with his devoted family. Hank is survived by his loving family: his wife of 56 years, Patricia A. Lucia Midden, his beloved daughter, Pamela A. Rendine and her husband Gerard of Mt. Pleasant, his grandchildren; Jared Rendine and his wife Anne of Pittsburgh, and Maria Baumann and her husband Alex of Ligonier, and his great granddaughter, Adalyn Baumann. In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by his infant son and daughter, Thomas and Lynise. Family and friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Funeral Home followed by Hank's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the St. Pius X Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Friday at 3PM., and the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department will conduct memorial services at 7 PM.
