Obituary of William Clifford Newill

Mount Pleasant, William Clifford Newill, age 70 of Kecksburg, died unexpectedly, Friday 10/2/15, while walking in the woods of Kecksburg that he loved. Mr. Newill was born March 17, 1945 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the son of the late Andrew and Marie Workman Newill. He was an active member of the Kecksburg Church of God. Bill was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. Prior to his retirement in 2010, Bill served as a Corrections Officer for SCI of Greene County. He was an avid hunter and trap shooter, and also enjoyed riding his motorcycle. He was a member of the Hecla Sportsmens Club and its Twinight trap league. Bill was a hard worker all of his life, and was devoted to his loving family. He is survived by his loving family: his wife of 42 years, Debra S. Hoke Newill, and by his beloved children; Karen S. Newill of South Mountain, PA, and David A. Newill of Greensburg. Bill is also survived by his sisters Ruth Ann Queer and her husband Paul of Kecksburg, and Myrna Armbrust and her husband James of Irwin and by his mother in law, Mary Sue Dolan Hoke of Mt. Pleasant. Sisters in law: Sheri Keslar and her husband Barry of Acme, and Susan Pelar and her husband Peter of Catonsville, MD and numerous nieces and nephews, In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his first wife, Linda Jones Newill in 1969. Family and friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, where funeral services will immediately follow at 4 PM with Pastor David C. Stickley officiating. Private Inurnment will be in the Mount Joy Cemetery. The family is requesting no flowers, and suggesting that contributions may be made to the Kecksburg Church of God, 1255 Clay Pike Road, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666, in Memory of Bill Newill.
