Obituary of Kenneth J. Mohney

Mount Pleasant, Kenneth J. "Pete" Mohney , age 79 of Mount Pleasant , PA, died Sunday (09/27/15) in the Hempfield Manor, Greensburg, PA. Mr. Mohney was born September 25, 1936 in Murray City, OH, the son of the late Kenneth and Rose Sistek Mohney. He was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant. Pete had proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He had been employed as a glass blower for the former Lenox Corp. for over 48 years. He was a life member of the NRA. Pete enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching the Steelers and the Penguins He is survived by his loving family: his devoted wife of 53 years, Florence Misiewicz Mohney, his children; Renee Patterson and her husband Scott of West Newton, and Kenneth W. Mohney and his wife Maureen of Toledo, OH, and by his beloved grandchildren; Luisa Miller, Brendan Mohney, Moira Mohney and Kieran Mohney. Pete is also survived by his sister, Barbara Kuhn of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to his parents, Pete was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Pinskey. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 3 to 5 & 7 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM in the Funeral Home, followed by Pete's Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X RC. Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446 will be in the Transfiguration Parish Cemetery, Mount Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 3:30PM. Transfiguration Holy Rosary will recite the Rosary @6PM Tuesday.
