Obituary of Victoria Janicky Polakovsky

Mount Pleasant, Victoria J. Janicky Polakovsky, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, died 2/16/15, surrounded by her loving family. Mrs Polakovsky was born March 14, 1937, in New Kensington, PA, the daughter of the late Edward J. and Louise Ziomek Janicky. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church. She attended Hurst High School. Vicky worked for the Mt. Pleasant Borough Emergency Dispatch and for S-TEEM 24-Hour Answering Service in Mt. Pleasant as a dispatch operator until she retired. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother (Gee Gee). Vicky is survived by her children: John E.Polakovsky, Jr. and his wife Bonnie, of Calumet, Kenneth M. Polakovsky, Sr. and his wife Donna, of United, Lou Ann Lauffer and her husband Kevin Sr., of Upper Tyrone Township, Edward J. Polakovsky and his wife Linda of Irwin, Kathleen Grosser and her husband Nathan of Greensburg, and Tracy Vrban and her husband Robb of Highland Ranch, CO, her grandchildren: Heidi (Scott) Selitto, John (Sarah) Polakovsky, Timothy (Raquel) Polakovsky, Kristin (Nathan) Rugg, Kenneth Polakovsky Jr., Adam Polakovsky, Emily Polakovsky, Katrina Lauffer, Kevin (Ashlee) Lauffer, Jr., and Matthew (Amanda) Lauffer, and by her Great-grandchildren , Kaydin and Kolton Rugg. Vicky is also survived by her brother, Edward Janicky and his wife Thelma of Scottdale, along with many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Vicky was preceded in death by her husband, John "Yunners" Polakovsky, Sr., (whom she married on May 2, 1953), in 1999, her infant son Ronald K. Polakovsky, in 1957, and by her sister, Marie Lamosek. Vicky's children would like to express their appreciation to Fr. John Sedlak, Fr. Bob Lubic, Fr. Jim Clark, Fr. Gerry Juarez, Dr. Leonida and his staff, especially Beth and Mary, and the staff of Amedysis Home Health Services Hospice Care for all the wonderful and loving care they provided for their mother during her illness. A special thank you to Tracy and Donna for the loving care and attention they provided on a daily basis. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Friday at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. followed by Vicky's 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass in Visitation Of The Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 3pm.
