Obituary of John J. Hudock

Mount Pleasant, John J. Hudock Sr., age 89 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (12/22/14) in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Hudock was born January 25, 1925 in Youngwood, PA, the son of the late Joseph and Verna Smithnosky Hudock. He was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church of Mt. Pleasant, where he had served as an usher form many years. John was a graduate of the former Youngwood High School. He was a proud WWII veteran serving in the United States Navy. John had been employed by the former Robertshaw Control Co and the Reed Tool and Die Co. He had served as president of the local union for Automation Tooling, a division of Robertshaw Contols. He was a member of the American Legion Post 446 of Mt. Pleasant, where he was a past Post Commander. John was an avid Pitt fan and a member of the Pitt Golden Panthers. John was a loving husband and devoted father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving family: his children; John J. Hudock, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Avella, Alan T. Hudock and his wife Debra of Latrobe, Richard M. Hudock and his wife Marcia of Bellefont, Karen J. Guthrie and her husband Terry of North Huntingdon, and Theresa M. Reist and her husband Hans of Airville, PA. He will be greatly missed by his beloved grandchildren; Jennifer Lindquist, Julianne Ulery, Kriston Galish, Donald Taggart, Ranelle Hudock, Jessica Polski, Tasha Hudock, Lauren Hudock, Steven Hudock, David Guthrie, Michael Guthrie, and Noah Reist, and by his great grandchildren; Zoe, Asher, Connor, Zavia and Miles. He is also survived by his sister, Margaret Heskey of Hunker, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Jane E. Dombrosky Hudock in 2010, and by his brothers and sister, Albert and George Hudock and Irene McBeth. Family and friends will be received Friday from 4 until 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 9:30AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, with military rites accorded by the American Legion Post 446. The family suggests memorials may be made to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Eagle and Walnut Streets, Mt.
