Obituary of Thomas L. Vandervort

Mount Pleasant, Thomas L. "Bud" Vandervort, age 76 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Saturday (7/12/14) in Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mr. Vandervort was born June 7, 1938 in Erie, PA, the son of the late Earl and Philomena Wehan Vandervort. He was a graduate of Erie Prep School, and received his Bachelor of Science and Masters Degree from Gannon University. Bud had been employed as an Engineer for General Electric Company. He was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing pool. Bud is survived by his loving family: his wife, Jeanne A. Bartkus-Vandervort, his children; Kimberly McCutchan and her husband James of Ft. Wayne, IN, Michele Buddenbaum and her husband Kenneth of Indianapolis, IN, Thomas L. Vandervort, Jr. and his wife Heather of Boston, MA, and Carrie Miller and her husband Gregory of Dayton, OH, and by his grandson, Brandon A. McCutchan. In addition to his parents, Bud was preceded in death by his brothers; Jack, Robert, and Donald Vandervort. As per the wishes of Mr. Vandervort, there will be no hours of public visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mt. Pleasant, PA.
