Obituary of Loretta J. Stafira Jahoda

Mount Pleasant, Loretta J. Stafira Jahoda, age 76 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Sunday (06/29/14) in the Greensburg Care Center, Greensburg, PA. Mrs. Jahoda was born November 27, 1937 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late John and Mary Tylka Stafira. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and its Christian Mothers, and was also a member of the former Transfiguration Parish. Loretta was a graduate of the former Hurst High School. She was the chairwoman for the Veterans Committee for over 20 years and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 446. Loretta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her loving family: her husband of 56 years , Donald F. Jahoda, her children; Kimberly Byers and her husband Richard of Rochester, NY, Donald A. Jahoda and his wife Debbie of Hubbard, OH, Shawn Jahoda of Philadelphia, and Brian Jahoda of Columbus, OH, and by her grandchildren; Philip Byers, Lindsay Byers, Jessica Byers, and Ashley Jahoda. Loretta is also survived by her brothers; John Stafira and his wife Barbara of Clarmore, OK and Stanley Stafira and his wife Patricia of Fisherville, VA, and by her brother in law, Andrew Regalla of Lycippus. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her sister, Henrietta Stafira Regalla. Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2 unitl 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM in the funeral home, followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A Parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Tuesday at 3 PM followed by the Rosary by the Visitation Holy Rosary Society.
