Obituary of Margaret M. Leshko

Mount Pleasant, Margaret M. Leshko , age 88 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (04/21/14) in the Harmon House Convalescent Center, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Leshko was born February 19, 1926 in Old Bethany, PA, the daughter of the late John and Veronica Rushnock Leshko, Sr. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, and its Rosary Altar Society. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Margaret was a 1945 graduate of the former East Huntingdon High School. She had worked as the produce manager for Shop and Save in Mt. Pleasant, and had also worked as a cook at the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and the McKenna Center. Margaret was an avid sports fan, who especially enjoyed watching the Steelers, Pirates and the Penguins. Margaret was the aunt that enjoyed spoiling her nieces and nephews, being the best friend," grandmother", and special aunt that would do anything for them. Margaret is survived by her brother, William Leshko and his wife Theresa of Tarrs, her brother and sister in law, Andrew Verostko and Mary Ann Leshko and numerous special nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Margaret was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers; Mary Moore and Dorothy Verostko and John J. Leshko Jr. and Joseph Leshko, and her niece, Ellen Moore. Family and friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle St., Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held Friday at 9:30AM in the funeral home followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko, as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home Thursday at 3:30PM followed immediately by the Rosary recited by the Visitation Rosary Altar Society.
