Obituary of Shirley Joanne Lesko Patik

Scottdale, Shirley Joanne Lesko Patik, age 74 of Scottdale, PA, died Monday (04/14/14) in Westmoreland Manor, Greensburg, PA. Mrs. Patik was born July 27, 1939 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Ketch Lesko. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, where she faithfully served as a Eucharistic Minister. Shirley was a 1957 graduate of the former Hurst High School, and a member of the First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association.She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, exercise and yard work. Shirley loved good conversation and company, and was a master story teller. She was an artist and sketcher with a heart of gold. She loved and cared for all people and animals. Her bright spirit will be deeply missed by anyone who knew her. Shirley is survived by her loving family: her husband, Robert M. Patik, her children; Cynthia Horton and her husband The Rev. Gregory Horton of Idaho, Richard T. Patik and his wife Holly of Mt. Pleasant, and Rhoda Patik of Mt. Pleasant, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers; Corrine Lesko, Barbara Dombrosky and Rose Marie Pisula all of Mt. Pleasant, Joseph Lesko Jr. and his wife Linda of Irwin, and Gerald Lesko and his wife Kathy of Alaska. Family and friends will be received Tuesday, 4/22/14 from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held on Wednesday, 4/23/14 at 9:30AM in the funeral home, followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3PM.
