Obituary of Kathryn Turik Kaminsky

Mount Pleasant, Kathryn "Kayte" Turik Kaminsky, age 86 of Mount Pleasant, PA, died Monday (04/7/14) in the Excela Health- Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, PA. Mrs. Kaminsky was born November 30, 1927 in Mount Pleasant, PA, the daughter of the late Andrew and Anna Balko Turik. She was a member of Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church and its Holy Rosary and Christian Mothers Society. Kayte had been employed for the former Amco Company. She also worked for Gerry Miller Catering, helping with many weddings and special occasions. She was an excellent baker, best known for her delicious lady locks. Kayte is survived by her loving family: her daughter; Kathy Walters and her husband Larry of White, her beloved grandchildren; Christie Eckels Fraser of Houlton, Maine, Nicole Eckels Horak and her husband James of Acme, and James Rankin and his wife Liz of North Hills, and by her beloved great grandchildren; Liam Fraser, Raegan Horak, and Emily Rankin. She is also survived by her brother, Andrew Turik of Canton, OH, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Kayte was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Kaminsky in 2010, her daughter; Marlene Rankin in 2005, and her brother, Steven Turik. Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 6 to 9 PM at the Galone-Caruso Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home Thursday at 9:30 AM followed by her 10:00 AM Funeral Mass in Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Richard J. Kosisko as celebrant. Interment will be in the Visitation Parish Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. A parish wake service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3PM, and the Visitation Holy Rosary Society and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary immediately following. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary RC Church, corner of Walnut and Eagle Sts, Mt. Pleasant, PA 15666, in memory of Kayte Kaminsky.
